This activity is used to help students perform the activity of “research.” The students and their classmates generate questions about a topic which can then be used to direct their search for information about a particular topic.

This is a read-stop-write activity, meaning the teacher first reads a section of an essay then stops for the students to write. The exercise allows students to write unhindered, and I find many of the students use ideas generated from this activity for their final research paper.

This activity is used to simultaneously help students become literate with image editing software and think about practical applications of the visual design principles.
